is there a way to connect tunnels to each other?

I don't think you can connect the "standard" trainz tunnels but there are a bunch on DS (<kuid:39134:102014> is my favorite) that you can download that behave in a similar manner to track..only thing is you need to also get a dighole. <kuid2:122285:1010:1>

By using this kind of tunnel you can put it at any angle you want.

Well if by "connect" you mean make curves and such, you can. After laying the spline, you can just connect from that spline point. Then raise/ lower the height as needed.

I think you mean 'connect' as in a 'junction in a tunnel splitting into two tunnels'. This is possible but you have to construct a joining piece for the junction. Without this your track would work but the train would seem to be driving through the tunnel wall as it passes through the junction.

When we made the Chicago Tunnel Company route, I had to construct over 40 individual cover sections to match all the junctions.

You can connect 2 tunnels together, by using a shortened spline of track...then straighten the track...and slide the tunnels almost together...there will be a slight air gap between the 2 tunnels.

I think you're looking for the AJS tunnels. They have all sorts of options, and as said, can be laid at any angle. A bit more difficult in that you have to dig the hole (well, it's just an asset you place in a grid square(s)), and then fill in gaps with walls and terrain splines.

Narrowgauge statements are absolutely correct. If he made junctions, we would like to have them. For now, the only way to do it is with the AJS kits. I was able to put switches inside of tunnels and make crossovers between two tracks using standard Auran ones (not easy, and worst when you add catenary and frogs, deep in the mountains).

Peter made the junctions specifically for the Chicago Tunnel route. They are 2-foot gauge and will not fit anywhere else other than our route.

Bill is correct, the CTC tunnels and junctions were 'made to measure'.

Email me so I know an address, I will send links for the CTC so you can see what I'm talking about and how we lined everything up. One thing we did differently, as we were modelling an 'all tunnel' prototype, the whole model was built on the top of flat boards. If after seeing that lot, if asked, I will send whatever Gmax files are selected. Although they are made for 2 ft gauge and a very tight tunnel clearance I think it would be possible to scale them up to suit standard gauge.

As an aside, the route assets would be perfect for an undergound mine.
