2. B&O EA - 1937/8 Royal Blue, National Limited, Capitol Lilmited
3. Train of Tomorrow - 1940's
4. SP 1955 Daylight - 1955
5. ATSF Blue Goose Hudson - 1938 Chief
6. SP/RI - Golden State
7. NP - 1952 North Coast Limited
8. WP/CB&Q/DRGW - 1949 California Zephyr
9. GM (ATSF, PRR, NYC, RI) - 1950's Aerotrain
10. NYC - 1948 20th Century Limited/Empire State Express/Comadore Vanderbuilt
11. CB&Q - 1934/1952 Denver Zephyr
and......

THE BIG BOY!!!!!!!!!!!! (joke):hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe:

im guessing it could be:

1. Selkirk 5935
2. Royal Hudson
3. or Y6B. i know it was said countless times but after comparing the images
it looks more alike.

It may be SAR 500 Class known as the (Mountain Class).
Just a guest as Mr Webb was an American and face of the loco looks like a 500 and the back ground has mountains.
All the best

Here is something I found with a little digging, it very nearly fits the description.

I would have to say that your guess is as close as any, but I keep reading the teaser and wondering how to interpret "By the 1950's,". A lot happened in the decade from 1950 to 1960, steam was dead and it seems to me the Alco PA's, EMD E and F units dominated the passenger service throughout the country with the exception of the east coast where electrics did a lot of the work. In fact the E and F's were still the main power of choice when Amtrak took control in the early 70's.
Correct me if I'm wrong: By the 1950's the railroads no longer experimented with Art Deco type trains of the future and seemed to concentrate on improving the passenger cars to entice travelers.
I do think it's time to cough up another "Hint" so we might be able to narrow things down. If it is a passenger set they are making I do hope it's something on the order of the GN's Empire Builder or NP's North Coast Limited.

I bet this is a hoax.

How can you say it's a hoax? Rob is one of the big, longtime employees of N3V. He was with the original Auran when Trainz first came out, worked on some of the original content, and even did the original Trainz videos on the program!

John,

I confirm what you said.

But now, you are......
You can agree with me or be 100% wrong...

Could it be the long awaited Australian N.S.W double decker V-Set the Blue Goose, ill not be holding my breath.

The Great Northern Empire Builder of the mid 50's was hauled by the F7 loco, Auran have already produced one of those.

I think we are running out of possibilities here, I still think it is the Silver Lady as I can't see that Loco on the DLS already. I just hope it's not the Aerotrain but at least that will save me some money.

Duuuh, could it be the Y6B? The illustration looks very similar to that locomotive. *Long, drawn out groan of frustration.*

Just read the entire thread, and got sick of reading that! But hey, at least I was reading!

@Jcitron, you think we need a puzzle piece? I think we need a puzzle!

C'mon Rob, stop stringing us along.

We need to know!:'(:'(

Cheers,

Matt.

My Best Idea Yet

Ok here is another one I found, this one seems even more likely: The Xplorer was built in in the mid 50's. Their cars were a single connected and I imagine unseperable. It was tested by the NYC and The New Haven, who named their's the Dan'l Webster. The diesel engines in the locomotives were created by a German company while the rest of the cars and engines were made by Baldwin in 1956. They proved unreliable and were scrapped in 1970. They were thought to be the precursor to the talgo units and by just looking at the cars you can till there is a strong resemblance.

This one would be cool to see in Trainz!

Coupla options

GM-EMD Aerotrain-Total Flop
NYC-Baldwin Xplorer-Total Flop
NYNH&H-FM P-12-42 Dan'l Webster-Total Flop

I think there's more.....

That's just off the top of my head. I also haven't seen any of the CB&Q Zephyers, thought someone would have made the Pioneer Zephyer a long time ago. Or the UP Citys/M10000-6. Those would be nice!:D

Steam is out. Ignore the pic provided. ?Comprende?

AURAN/N3V/MODS: At least A hint, even one (1), would be greatly appreciated. THANKS
