Coal Stage Problem

I'm using the Coal Stage <187586:28156> to load some coal wagons, and it works very well except that the wagons don't line up under the chute properly. Can this be fixed? The wagons are BR Freight MCO Grey.
Thanks,
Mick Berg.

Hi Mick,

Short answer is no. The loading triggers are built in to the coalstage rail, but you might be able to adjust slightly with different speed limit signs i.e if the wagon stops short increase the speed limit and if the wagon over runs decrease the speed limit.

Thanks Bill69, I'll try some speed adjustments. It's fine as it is, much better looking than the MIN where the coal wagons just magically fill for no apparent reason!

Just another "solution".

I had the same issue with the MIN filling coal cars. In my case I was able to find some silos used for loading coal which were not interactive and added them over the MIN track. The coal cars actually go into the bottom of the silo, so unless your looking at it from the right angle it appears that the cars are being loaded from above.

Since I model areas in the US that use this type of loading this worked for me. Certainly wouldn't work if this does not fit your area / time frame.

What I like about the Coal Stage (to be honest I never thought about whether it is correct geographically) is that it loads the cars one at a time. The MIN loads them all at once. I'm going to use it even if I can't address the problem I described, which I suspect is caused by the extra braking (maxdecel) that I added to the Jinty loco to prevent it from SPADding.
Thanks,
Mick.
