CMTM and SCS combined?

I have a question. Can CMTM and SCS2006 both be untilized in creating a session in TRS2009? If not, then which should be the proper one to use? If yes, then which would lead in session creation over the other?

I hope my questions clear and precise enough to answer my questions.

To all have good day and train running( and development ) and I will wait for the answers.

I'm not that familiar with SCS2006, but I don't see why they would not be compatable. CMTM is stricly a database that interfaces to specific cars on the route. Unless SCS2006 requires special portals, there should not be a problem. If SCS2006 uses multiple days, there might be a conflict over which app selects the day.

Thank you for your resonse I will check with TPR for their info. I checked here first feeling that this forum would have more people with some level of skill in one or both.

Again dap, thanks

Hi

SCS2006 can't use portals as trains are added either in surveyor or at a trackmark. I believe that CMTM uses specially designed portals for issuing consists where each vehicle has its destination preset. If CMTM does rely on these portals then I don't think the two systems will be compatible.

No Portals, wow, what a handicap. Anyway, CMTM does assign destinations to trains that are placed in Surveyor. And I'm sure that if the creator of SCS2006 is willing to work with me, I can adapt CMTM to trains placed at track-mark.

How does SCS2006 deal with trains leaving the route? These need to be delt with as well.

thanks to both of you . That is why I posted here first and Kennilworth you cleared up my questions and wonderings about both.

SCS2006 allows trains to appear or disappear at any trackmark. As a rule this would be out of sight of the person driving the train. The idea is that rather than have a train drive all the way across the route to a meet with the player's train you have it appear just out of sight in front of the player's train, have the meet and then disappear after it is out of sight again. This saves on system resources. SCS2006 strong point is that it allows very fine control over the movement of trains running under its control. SCS2006 is really for creating pre-scripted sessions rather than your system which excels at simulating real freight traffic.

SCS2006 requires that it be the only rule in a session. This normally makes it incompatible with any other rule.

to all, thanks for the assistance you have given and thanks wreeder for clarification of the differences between the two.

To wreeder I see that you are a NG fan, I am currently building a NG 4-8-4 and hopefully it will stay under 1800 lbs.

again to all thanks for the help.
