I wish to fiddle with the enginespec file for these (2-8-8-2) locos.
I can't find these locos on the DLS now.
I have changed the accelleration and decelleration in the config file but can't get them to run faster than 13mph.
Other locos have been altered without a problem.
What should I do?

If you're talking about bdaneal's USRA 2-8-8-2,<kuid:96914:4740>, the enginespec (usrahmalletteng,<kuid:96914:51474>) motor section has the maxspeed set to 12 m/s. Multiply by 2.24 to get 26 mph. I get max speed of 26 mph in DCC and 29 mph in CAB.

By typing in 2-8-8-2 ... I see @ 30 loco's ... try typing in 2-8-8 and you might find more

Yes that was the loco and I found the enginespec. The max speed was shown as 120 but I don't get anywhere that running under AI.
Fiddled with the max accel and decel and now happy with the performance of around 50mph.
