Hi everyone,
is there one (or more) of you that could help me to get blueprints or correct measurements of the class 66.

Any help or suggestion would be helpfull ..

Done

You are treading over well-worn ground with the 66's, I have a whole bunch of them on my PC and they are very nice indeed.

Is there a specific reason why you wish to go on this journey?

Angela

The reason is simple: most of the time i drive 1:1 a class 66 myself, therefore i want to build it in 3dmax or Gmax (ofcourse i got a little help with building it). But the question remain: do you have blueprints or correct measurements?

Grtz,

No plans

No, I have no plans, but if you intend to use this 66 just for your personal PC then why not reskin?

Angela

Way I see it is build what you want to build, regardless of what anyone else states. Their are a few locos that I want to build and will build at some point that already exist for Trainz, I want to build them simply as they are favourite loco classes of mine. Unfortunately though I can't help you with the diagrams of the 66's.

I would think you are unlikely to find any really good drawings of such a modern loco, especially one still being built. Manufacturers generally aren't up for giving out their drawings and anything less will tend to contain errors which are easy to overlook until you have what you think is a complete model.

Get your library to reserve/inter-library-loan a copy of 'Mainline Diesel Locomotives' by Colin Marsden. The 2nd edition - which is what most libraries should have - contains a set of class 66 drawings (4mm scale of course) that are good enough to build a model from. Avoid the 1st edition though, as it was published prior to the introduction of the 66, and only goes up to the 59 or 60 iirc.

If you can find a copy to buy, you could do that too, it's about £18 if you can find it, but it's out of print.

Err, hes in the Netherlands. I'd suggest getting in contact with Rumor3 and see if he will let you have the source files to do some modifications. Most artists are Ok with any mods if you ask, others may not be.
