Changing tracks on bridges, crossings and tunnels.

Tried putting some track on bridges, discovered not all track was meant for all bridges.:( Here's an example of Snow 1t on the Bridge Steel USA.

The overhang just looks bad.
This has the same effect but did show that if road is listed in the config as type Track or Rails, it can work too.

But not on every bridge.

@StorkNest: INCREDIBLE! CHANGING BUILT-IN content!
Your trick to use the "alias"-function (some lines above) indeed allowed to place my tracks on built-in bridges!!!!!
I never expected that built-in in any way could be changed! Great help!
With some bridges it worked perfectly, in others I had to change the "length". And I have the similar problem you show above: Some bridges are too narrow - or the tracks are too wide and overlap.
Now I have to find out how to make trackbeds smaller.
Thanks for the great trick

Use Track without Ballast. Its highly unusual (in the UK at least) for metal bridges to have ballasted track as the ballast retains water leading to corrosion and is of course enormously heavy placing a strain on the bridge. The conventional way to do it is to fix the track to longitudinal 12" x 12" Waybeams tied together by Crossbeams at regular intervals.

Hi there

Don't know if it has been mentioned before but how about some i just found, the CGM series of bridges, There actually in the section with the signals and clip on to the track, so just choose the track and lay it then choose a bridge and clip it on to the track, I quite like this option, should be more of it.

Any others people know off ?.

Tom

Interesting part about corrosion. Now I'll have to hope I figure out how to alias those bridges with replacement textures that show corroded metal.:)

I find myself in the same position as Grazza, needing to make bridge track change automatically to the same type of track as is attached to the bridge.

I recall reading somewhere, probably on the old forum, about a relatively easy way to change the config through CMP. Something along the lines of right-click on the asset and ticking a check box, but I can't recall the exact detail.

Does anyone recall seeing the post, or know the steps involved in using CMP to enable this option?

Thanks,
Ian

Hello Everyone,

I'm using TRS04 and I'd like to set the XING crossings (mocrossings if I'm not mistaken?) so that it could use any type of track that attaches to it. I've tried to find the actual config.txt file for that item (it's a built in item: KUID 523:23282 as an example) but I can't seem to edit the config.txt file from T.O (it wont let me edit any config files of built in items). I've tried looking in my TRS installation folders for the actual kuid file/config file without sucess. :( Can anyone help me out a bit?

Bridges that behave like track.

jjslll54 you mentioned two of these in your post of January 7. I've tried to find them on the DLS but even with a narrow search you've got thousands of things there. A clue to finding them please.
