change default points motor?

Is there a way to change the default points motor (switch lever), so that when track is laid it uses the one I want?

Yes there is a way. The default points/switch are in the config.txt of the region file. Here is the method I have used...

Open Content Manager
Custom Filter
Region = UK
Installed = True
Order by Type
Scroll through list for Type = Region until you find United Kindom (region file) or country of your choice
Open file for edit
Edit config.txt
Set defaultjunction <kuid2:101839:20002:2> or points/switch of your choice
Save file
Submit Edits

It's too bad that things such as this couldn't be done easily using some kind of GUI. I mean, editing a config.txt file and making updates is easy for us but not everyone is capable or willing to do that.

You can always use the Bulk Asset Update/Replace feature in Surveyor Classic to change some or all switches to what you want.

Thanks for the advice. Ive followed the instructions as noted above. When I located the region file (United Kingdom) I noted thate the file is marked obsolete. After making the changes, and saving the changes, to the defaultJunction and submitting the changes, I note that it is still marked as obsolete.
I note there is a section as follows:

obsolete-table
{
0 <kuid:-1:7803>
}

So Im guessing this is what needs altering but what do I alter it to?

Ignore that obsolete-table entry.
You only need to change the entry for defaultjunction. Change the kuid number for the kuid you want.
In my example ...
defaultjunction <kuid2:101839:20002:2>
sets my points to a white yard lever.

My region file is not obsolete and is an Auran file <kuid:-25:926>

Mine has the same kuid number. So not sure why its showing as obsolete. I am using TRS22 PE. Not sure if that makes a difference, but I doubt it. I shall check the one on my Plus version

Edit: So the file on my Plus version is a different file altogether. PLL1930s <kuid2:84609:28720:1> - That file is also on my PE Version so I shall go alter that one I think.

Seems that it was not either of those files. I finally found the right one <kuid:-25:1514> This one did not show up when I searched as above. This time I just iscolated all teh region files and found there was a 2nd one for the United Kingdom.

I didn't see it mentioned here. It's important that you make the change twice. The first one is the reference to switch motor and the second is in the kuid-table. To make this easy, use the find and replace function in your text editor.
