CDP Download Puzzle

I just had a very interesting and puzzling thing happen on my computer with my downloaded CDP's.

I download CDP's to a separate location on my c-drive using FTP. I then open the CDP's and extract to TRS2004 , where I check them out before exporting to TRS2006.

I just went to my CDP folder and found that all the CDP icons had changed to the TRS2006 icons. How did this happen? When I double click the left mouse button CMP opens. When I right mouse click on the icon a small window opens where I can click "open". The old extract window opens and I can extract to TRS2004 as I have always done.

How did CMP find my "secret" folder and change all the icons? Did CMP extract all the items to TRS2006? Can I undo all this? If CMP has extracted all my past downloads to TRS2006 I want to delete them. How do I do that?

your computer stores the information as cdp file = cmp, bmp file = mspaint, etc so most likly what happened is that CMP got set to reconizes and be the default opener of cdp files. if you do the right click go to 'open with' then 'Choose Program' you can pick the old extracter; check the little box that says 'make this the default program for this file type' the 'OK'. mind you this will make all cdp files open using the old program. but yu can right click and go to "open with" and CMP should be listed.

Thanks PerRock

It's good to see the old icons of Content Dispatcher again. It always makes me nervous when my computer does something that Im not aware that I did. I'm sure in time I will switch to CMP. I have a route that I have been building for a couple of years in TRS2004 that I probably will not import to TRS2006. I'm ready to start a new project in TRS2006.
