Catenary track?

Has anyone made track that has built-in catenary at the height for US locomotives? I know there are some tracks with built-in catenary, but it's too low for the MR EF1's that are included with TRS2006 (or any other American electric locomotive for that matter).

Would you care to list them because I would like to see how it was done. The spline repeat distance for track which is about 2 meters for any track you wish to curve and the catenary repeat distance of say 50 meters are very different and I don't see how they could be reconciled except for straight track.

The only track with catenary already attached on the DLS, is that created by our Japanese Trainzy friend kenichiro, I don't know of any others. I assume with him being non-American that this is not suitable to your needs ??

Jaleel did a version of catenary with for the NSL but it was never released. He did release other overhead that may work for you though.

Thanks for the replies. I am replying from a school comp (slower than molasses at abosolute zero), and can't access my copy trainz to see which ones I found. I will post them when I get home.

Yeah, it's the one from kenichiro. kuid:[FONT=Verdana, Arial]117608:60318. The problem is that the catenary almost touches the pantographs when they are DOWN. When they are up, the pantograph go through the wires.

Most unfortunate, and they are probably the only ones available on the DLS. I'm unsure if you would find anything on a 3rd party website either, and if you did, it would probably be European which may give you exactly the same results. Only thing is to do the catenary separately on your route, but at least the height would be correct for your locomotives.
I remember the NEC layout from Wilmington to Philadelphia on the DLS was all electrified, if you download it you can see which assets were used by it's creator, and it's the only electrified layout I know of from the States....

What this is for is an open pit iron mine so there are enough curves to drive me nuts if I place the catenary separately. Maybe I'll just use a good steamer...

At one time, I electrified the Highland Valley Route using catenary from Sweden. It looks good and doesn't place and undo strain on my computers. Although it's not connected to the tract, it's easly set up with a catenary placement tool from the same site. The height is also correct. Let me know how it works out.

I use andi06 track kuid:122285.

There are several types available: Track Cat -56 and Track Cat -64. Each has several variations.

I use this track especially for my trolley systems. The catenary is attached to the track and all you have to do is attach the appropriate supporting poles. Works well for me in most cases.

Thanks Paul_Bert. That's a little higher than the other catenary. Not high enough for the MR EF1's but high enough for a little L1 I found that's little more than a freight tram. Thanks!
