Can't remove fence.

I laid 'Wire Fence 5 strand' alongside the track.
Having trouble with AI I found that it had rubber-banded itself across the track and also added a switch.
I can remove the switch but not the fence.
I made sure I was in spline mode and changed layers but it cannot be picked or deleted.
I am ready to cut out the section of track but wonder if there is a fix?

Check if you can delete it in track mode. If it connects to a track it might share more behavior.
Alternatively, try teaching your trains that fences are the new rails. “It is what all the railroads do nowadays “.

Thought of hanging some washing on it and deleting the washing.
Seriously I was hoping to get rid of the fence as my trackwork is below the standard of the creator.
Thanks for the reply.

See whether a track or other spline can connect to it ... drag it off to the side, and shorten it ... try to delete it there ... If it can not be deleted, it has morphed into a corrupt asset, and can not be deleted, so leave it there off to the side

Very sad that this kind of things apparently have no solution: "leave it there to the side..".

This problem is part of an old problem, where splines change to objects, gets corrupted, become invisible and all. Ultimately, when it happened to me, and it has happen several times, the only solution I found was to delete the asset at CM level (if it is a built-in thing, you can't). Then, open your route and "delete missing assets). Once it is gone, download again and carefully try to lay it. Of course, if you had the fence in many places, you have re-do all. More kirks of the game...

What had happened isit had welded itself to the track at a turnout and wouldn't delete because a consist was sitting on it further down. Note to self: MUST hold ctrl when setting fences!

This isn't a bug. It's due to the changes in the spec where all splines are treated as a kind track. There is a possibility that the original content creator forgot a tag which tells Trainz that the content is not really track, which is the same way of preventing roads and telephone wires from becoming tracks.

There was a bug in TS12 SP1 which was fixed in HF4 and later occurred in T:ANE SP2, and has been fixed again in the latest beta - I just check that with some grass splines and tried to place a speed limit sign on it, and track won't attach to it. This bug caused track objects and track marks to attach themselves to nearby splines, which caused odd behavior such as AI drivers missing track marks because they were attached to the overhead catenary instead of the tracks. I reported this bug in both occasions to N3V.
