I'm mystified by your post, perhaps you could clarify your meaning?
Did you remember to use the appropriate button to activate the edit box? For example the Reply to Thread option.

If you can't put anything in the box how are you posting in this thread?
Tried rebooting the PC?
Which browser are you using? If you can try another one, may narrow the problem down to browser or something else.
Keyboard wired or not? Batteries? Connectivity?
I'm wondering hholden, are you running Firefox with the 'Noscript' addon installed? Chances are, if you are, that add-on might be blocking parts of the site from functioning - I find it tends to be very overzealous when it comes to script blocking. If you are, try disabling it in the add-ons section of the browser (by clicking 'Tools' and then 'Add-ons' in the toolbar at the top of the page).
Alternaltively, rather than disabling Noscript completely, you can also allow it to stop blocking the forum by clicking the right button on the mouse, and then selecting 'Noscript', and if it says 'Allow auran.com' or something like that, click it. It should now allow you to enter text.
I find whenever I can't view a website in Firefox properly, it's usually Noscript at fault blocking benign scripts from running, but it's a very good thing to have still anyway with so much spyware/malware executing through malicious scripts hidden on websites.
Actually, it turns out that I don't have Noscript installed. Any other suggestions?
Check that add-ons are not disabled in Firefox. Anything that says "Enable", click on it to enable it and restart the browser. If not try IE just to see if it works.
What's IE? I'm asking because I never heard of it before.
Internet Explorer. "IE9" is the latest for Windows 7. IE10 is on Windows 8. I hope you're not trying this on Win8 yet? There's no support for the OS at this time that I am aware of here in the forums.
