Can't find double tracks in surveyor, TS2012

Hi, I'm wondering if something went silently wrong during the installation, or if I'm simply missing something I should see.

In TRS2006 Surveyor, I used to be able to lay down double tracks with no problem by selecting the track type and laying it down just like one does with single tracks. But in TR2012, all I seem to be able to find are double track bridges and tunnels, but no actual tracks. I've tried looking at how they were laid down in some of the existing given layouts, but those very same tracks don't appear in my track selector when I build my own layouts from scratch.

I must be missing something really fundamental, but I'm just left scratching my head here.

Would anyone have any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks.

Well I just fired up TRZ12 and a blank board opened "content search filter"
entered double track, 2 track or Author/# authors ID number.
Any number of ways to find assets.

OK, doing that, I managed to find a single UK Concrete 2 Track. It's a start. Perhaps I need to download some, now, to get more variants. I'm a bit surprised there aren't more than that pre-packaged with TS2012.

Thanks for your help. I never realized that content filter was so handy. I would always just type part of what I wanted in the track picker, and never managed to find the double tracks.

I believe they are not recommended due to various problems.

Your right! Very few built-ib dbl track. Found a couple you might like.

Yes, indeed, you're quite right. After playing around with double tracks a bit, and finding out that the splines don't straighten, I think I'm going to stick with side-by-side single tracks. They offer better control over placement and curves.

Thank you for your advice, everyone!

When using single tracks to make double, you can use a track spacer or way gauge giving the correct distance between parallel tracks. These are available for different track systems depending on which country you are modelling - eg. further apart for the USA or Europe than for the UK due to the difference in loading gauges.
