Sounds like a good idea, I cant really just go back to Win XP because my son spent a lot of money buying it for me , however Dual Booting sounds like the best of both worlds

Have you got Trainz set to run as administrator if using Windows Vista/7?

If you have, another of my utilities may help - details are at http://trainz.shaneturner.co.uk/tutorials/index.php/en/home/utilities/permission-generating-tool.

-Well tried your suggestion of starting tranz in admin mode which didn't seem to make any difference at all, I also tried switching off my antivirus which is Kaspersky just in case that was causing the problem blocking access to Aruan and the DLS in particular although all the settings in Kaspersky were set correctly to allow access to the Auran website, it did allow me partial access in that it said I needed to fill in my username and password which I did, when I did get through it started telling me that I needed to buy a first-class ticket which I already have and it's a valid one up until June 2013, I then went on to try and download something from the download station, It then told me that I had used up my daily quota of 100 MB and needed to buy a first-class ticket and yet on the download station it is showing that I have a valid first-class ticket up to June 2013 !.
The other odd thing is that I tried to download an update patch from my current version of 2012 ( version 46957 ) to (47059) I was told that I don't have a version installed that is compatible with this update ?? .
Yet another odd thing when I start trains and go to the contents update that doesn't seem to be any problem at all, at this moment it's downloading and installing over 500 updates, which leads me to believe that my username and password are correct and have been recognised by the Auran server, the whole thing is very frustrating indeed and I'm on the verge of Deleting Windows 7 and buying a bigger hard drive which I intend to use as a dual boot system , I will install both XP Pro and Windows 7, since I've installed Windows 7 I have had nothing but trouble with not only trainz but a few other things as well, I intend to reinstall trainz 2012 on the XP boot section and everything else on Windows 7 and see how that gos.
I have also tried your `commission generating tool` once the program starts up I'm not sure exactly what to put after the flashing cursor, what I did try was-----------
D\TS12 and then press enter , D drive is where 2012 is located in the name of the folder is TS12 basically I really don't know what I should be writing after the flashing cursor could you please help me with that one as well.
I would be very grateful for any other suggestions you might have that might solve my current problems with the DLS, tranz 2012 itself seems to be working perfectly well and it's only when I go to the download station that problems occur.
Many thanks for your help so far

Could be a permissions thing with your firewall. You need to check off CMP as one of the programs allowed access through it.
