Can't commit added assets while saving a session

When I try to save a signal, train, etc., I'm adding to a session, I get the following message:

"Session was saved successfully but Surveyor was unable to commit it to the Trainz Asset Database. This task can be completed in CMP."

I have never seen this message before either in TRS2006 or TRS2009 until now. The assets I tried to add were ones that I've added before with no problems, and are not ones that needed to be downloaded from Download Station.

1. What causes this message to appear?
2. How do I access CMP without closing and restarting Trainz, and losing the assets I tried to add to that session?
3. How do I commit them once I'm in CMP?

Thanks for your help.

John,

I poked around in Content Manager, and found Extended Database Repair under File. I ran it twice, and the two errors that appeared the first time disappeared after the second. But I'm still getting the same message.

I copy the Auran folder to a DVD after I make changes, so I'll probably uninstall and reinstall Trainz, and replace the original Auran folder with my DVD copy. I've done that before when I made a mess, and it's always worked.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Johnny,

I did something similar, too, before I posted my question. I saved it as a new session under the same Route. But because I save the Auran folder to a DVD after I've made modifications, I wanted to keep the folder's size below what would require copying to two disks.

The uninstall/reinstall worked (on the second try). The second time, I installed Auran to a folder not in c:\Program Files. I used c:\Trainz\Auran. I got that from the flight simmers who've had problems running Microsoft Flight Simulator in Vista and Windows 7 from the c:\Program Files directory. Maybe this will help others who are having problems with Trainz.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll do that if I have that problem again. I think it was caused by trying to install assets from TRS2004 that did not use the same mesh as TRS2009. Everything was ok before that.

Also get this error once in a while. If I wait a few minutes and save again, everything works as if nothing was ever wrong. :o I'm convinced (until someone can prove me wrong) it's the new TADDaemon that is getting in the way with it's incessant calling home. :(
