cancer

I know only one person who has ever had cancer, she has however endured more pain and suffering than everyone else I know put together. I will include you in my prayers. I've never liked seeing people in pain, not especially this kind of pain.

Sadly, Theo's partner has informed me that Theo has passed away.

Theo was a founding member of our local Trainz group in Brisbane, and was passionate about trains and Trainz. I know he had a lot of pleasure from Trainz, the community and creations freely provided by many. He will be missed.

His family expressed appreciation for all your kind comments and thoughts in this post and wished him to be remembered to you.

regards
Ian

That's sad. :'( :'( :( It's always sad to lose a member of the Trainz community, especially in a way like this. :( My condolences go to Theo's family.

Although I never knew Theo, from what I have read in this thread he must have been a great lover of trains and Trainz. A man who will be missed by everyone. My thoughts and prayers to his family.

Never knew him, but a loss to the community none the less. Were gonna have a decent sized memorial before too long. Such a large community, but still sad when we loss a member.

Best wishes to his family members

Sad Sad news, may he Rest In Peace.

Another Trainzer gone to the great train set in the sky.

Sad to read that one of us is no longer among us. Let this thread be a remembrance of him and his courage to face his desease.

The sad side of Alberte :(

My heart goes out to Theo's family. My father passed away a month ago after a short fight against Lung Cancer.

Dad also had a passion for Railways and I hope he and Theo, wherever they are, are sat drinking a cold beer talking about trains.

I don't know how I missed this topic, but my thoughts go to Theo's family - even though I never knew Theo.

I am actually a survivor myself of cancer having been diagnosed with testicular cancer back in Jan '08 and have recently been given the all clear. A colleague at work has got Leukemia but is currently in remission, and a close relative to my g/f has just been diagnosed with Cervical cancer.

This is one of those sad diseases that unfortunately do affect some people really badly...and in the case of Theo, well, need I say more?

I've signed up with LiveStrong (after Lance Armstrong who was also diagnosed with Testicular Cancer) and Macmillan (with whom my Employers - Somerfield - raise a lot of money for). I wear my LiveStrong wrist band and my Somerfield/MacMillan Xmas fleece with pride.

My heart and thoughts go to everyone who is either diagnosed or affected by cancer as it is a very traumatic time and very hard to cope with...

My condolences to Theo's family and friends.

I would urge any male over fify to get regular tests for prostate cancer as much can be done if detected early.

I remember when I first saw some of those graveyard "kits" on the DLS I thought they were either some sort of odd joke, or an interesting way to add to the overall detail of a layout. Sadly, I see now that these gravestones are no joke. To me they are Trainzers who have joined the choir invisible, never to be seen again. My prayers go out to this man and his family, for now is the time for the Lord God Almighty to comfort them in their sorrow. I hope I don't see a "joke" become reality again for a long time...

actually my consultant when I was pre-Chemo said that for blokes, you are at risk from 40yrs+ of prostate cancer - even more so if you have not had testicular cancer.

Chances of testicular cancer in a 40yr+ man is very slim, but quite high for 40yr-.

I suppose I was lucky to get testicular as that is very treatable...

Any male, regardless of age, needs to have a good feel for any odd lumps - I'm only 25 and I caught my lump in the very very early stages - so early in fact my doctor thought it was only a harmless cyst.
