Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

Roy: Thank you for the critique..I'll be sure to try some of your suggestions..Their is one question, I did not understand what you said about DEM??I know just enough about computers to be Dangereous..OH Roy there is one thing I'd like to tell you, I use Pale Blue for my snow..The reason is it leaves high-lites(Blue) on rough areas

Hi Bob use F1 grid points up and down

Bob what i told you was not critique but advice and experience what work for me could work for you.
change the grid heightpoints in your model is what i meant.
height up or down Topolgy in surveyor.

I have to see myslef and try pale blue wha this texture does and come back to you on that one ok? what is the exact name of that texture pls?

Roy,

Truly unbelievably awesome route that you have posted screenshots of here. It looks so realistic. It looks like a true grandmaster of Trainz route building built it. Congratulations man, your route looks so good that if there were a list of the greatest routes made for Trainz, I would not be surprised to see your route here near the top of the list. It sure looks like one of the best Trainz routes that I have ever seen. Without-a-doubt absolute payware quality. Awesome work; very, very well done. :)

Regards.

Retro wow your post here is so different than the one I just answered to Muliebuck about route builders in general. Maybe i was misunderstood but from what i read and my english is not that bad i got upset and had to defend ourselves from it.
No we (in general) not build routes just for the nice picts and the fps goes down the drain the nicer it looks.
I guarantee you my route(s) have an fps fingerlicking good even in very very dense areas 15 to 20 fps with ocemy very detailed(heavy) consists triple loco etc etc so normally a 20-30 up fps is what my route with the nice picts gives on a good to very good computer of course.
Back to your comment i feel honestly very flattered thank you.
By the way how come you are still on 2004???

have a nice day

Roy:cool:

No problem Roy. :) TRS2004 is the latest version I have, and my computer is pretty much a budget laptop with little hard drive space and only around 896 megabytes of memory (only half of which is usually free), so I just get by with TRS2004 on route that have a rather low density. Who knows, TS2010 might run similar to TRS2004 on my system if I stick to the mostly TRS2004-grade (in polygon count, etc.) stuff that I use today with TRS2004, but high-detail stuff could bring my system to its knees wailing and crying probably quickly. To be honest, I would love to jump in to TS2010; if I had the money for a decent computer and such, then I would love to jump right in to the newer Trainz versions and join the fun. ;) Nevertheless, I make do and still get satisfaction with what I have. ;)

Regards.

P. S. "Have a nice night" would likely be more appropriate, for it is around 2:40 a. m. where we live, i. e. the wee-hours of the morning, when most people around here are sleeping! My profile does not gives my "occupation" as a night owl for no reason! Just thought that I would mention it. :o :p

Does trainz have a Guide Michelin system where you lose a star suddenly??

I know its silly but just wonder how this works the voting system where you can get ratings from terrible 1 star (whazzz that???) to 5 star excellent.
Notice today this thread lost one star due to what event or someone vote ugly?

Guys out there if this thread and quality of information and pictures is average 3 star what is excellent.
Vote now:hehe::hehe::hehe::cool:

make this thread not look stupid:eek: with only 3 star losing one:confused:

Roy;)

Will try more on just paleblue today

thanks Bob looks like you have the right one.
Will try today with a ts2009 version

Roy

good luck;)

Another winner Roy (edit: make that 2 winners; neat to have the dog walking across the tracks, oh, and the birds in the sky (are they animated?) ;)), splended job. :D You need to get N3V to use your shots for at least some of the publicity screenshots for TS12; it might make TS12 more attractive to potential buyers. ;)

you are to kind and yes the birds are animated and make a hell of noice my wife ning complains all the time. she send the dog near the tracks when i took the pictures but they are sticky and hang around:hehe:

Roy:wave:

Cool! I would bet that the animated birds help add that touch of movement and activity to the route to help turn it from a static world to a live one. ;) Where did you get them? If they work in TRS2004, then I might have to check them out. :D

In case you did not know, whecsailor has a flock of animated (but silent :() flying geese for TRS2004 on the DLS, which uses a rabbit as the origin marker.
