Can you change the enginespec of many items at once?

Curious.. shouldnt there be a way?

This question first arose with the developement of Stovepipe's enginespecs for UK wagons, coaches etc.

I can't imagine going through 1000s of items replacing a kuid....
Surely there should be a way to change these things quickly?

David,

I don't think there's a way to do that, unfortunately. It would be nice though because that would help with many config file fixes particularly when they are all the same for many assets.

I use the search and replace, as I had thousands of items to work on !!!

search config.txt

and replace KUID <xxxx:xxxx>

with KUID <yyyy:yyyy>

All I had to do is find all the stuff I wanted to change the enginespec on, open it all for edit then bingo pretty straight forward!

of course it works, the only thing round here that doesnt work is the wife and kids LOL

Thank you, Barn for the link that is a really nifty little utility. The next time I need to edit a gazillion config files that all have the same error, this will come in handy.
