Well, Joe, what you have there is a case of Trainz roads doing what Trainz roads do naturally - floating!! You don't notice such things until you start to view things from the sort of angles you are using for these screenshots. There are two ways to 'overcome' (sorry, that's "work around") this issue. The first of these involves using a different road, one that has been 'especially' created so as to defy the Auran instructions that force creators to make roads that 'float' - of which there are only a few (and I have no idea which ones they are). Otherwise, you can manipulate the road that you are using to lower the spline points nearest the crossing so that the road 'sits' where it should. This is not an easy task as you cannot easily 'work' the spline points and view the situation with the right aspect to see what you are doing.
In addition, although I am not familiar with the PCR crossing you have used, the creator, if he/she has done the right thing should have spline point 'connectors' attached to the crossing (visible only in Surveyor) on the road side, to which you are supposed to attach the road (of which, you have failed to take advantage)....
Actually, it might have been attatched to the spline points of the crossing. I noticed the same thing with BNSF50's crossings when I first started out. Basically when you attach the roads to it, that happens if you are not using the correct road. You may want to see if the creator of the crossings has any roads that they have made, or failing that, try BNSF50's roads.
Um...I think he is asking why are the gates still up with those engines there?:hehe:
acbdfaqoz, if you look just above the engines you will see a red arrow pointing away from the crossing. This indicates that the engines are headed away from the crossing. Change the engines heading to see if this triggers them...
Then again, maybe I am wrong about the question...:hehe:
It's the floating road I'm concerned with. I actually just tried a different type of road and got it working. There's also a pink line that says something to the degree of "vehicle generator." What's that all about? I connected the road to the spline point and the cars work fine so I don't understand this generator spline.
Hi there,
For the most part carz only work on 2 lane roads. If you use a 4 lane crossing and 4 lane road, you will see only two lanes with carz on them. The car generator makes cars to go on the other two lanes. It's pretty ingenious if you think about it.
Hope this helps.
Neil
BNSF50 (Husband and wife) has made roads that do not float above the surface (yay) and work with their crossings. I've also had good luck with the roads made by Cloaked Ghost and use those as well.
