Virginia Railway Express F59PHI #V51, leased from Sounder Transit in Seattle. I just got off a train hauled by this very locomotive, actually.

Where does the VRE tunnel come in to Union station in relationship to the other tracks?

Last couple of Platforms at the opposite end to the Metro tunnels. They are also at a lower level then the rest of the station I seem to recall.

The Virginia Street Tunnel comes into a set of dingy platforms to the far right of the station looking from the concourse north. The tunnel smells like smoke and flames or some reason, and goes right under the capital building before emerging as elevated track in the middle of downtown.
