Ive been to the archives this morning. I only got part way through the photos there of what I wanted to see. But one image clearly shows the area that this post started by asking about. I can clearly see 6 bays for the coal drops in the picture. The end of the image though cuts short of the end of the drops so I cant see the building that is on the map. The image is dated as 1900 so Im quite happy with that. Another item I found was some images of the wagons that were in use and a couple of a Manning Wardle locomotive built in 1878 in Leeds. Pity we dont have one of those on the DLS.
