The purpose of what Auran is doing is to get Trainz users to buy the latest versions. After the deadline any new content will have to be Trainz Classics or above, so you'll have to have at least that to DL anything new. If you are creating for TRS2004 or 2006 you need to have a later version for error checking, it's not just a case of changing the version number. Many items that had been corrected in TC3 showed errors when imported to TS2010.
Buildings made to TRS2004 standards may work okay in 2010, but the same doesn't apply to trees. If I want to make trees for TS2010 it's a hell of lot more work in Gmax. I think that Trainz users should be able to upload content for whatever version they own. After all it's us that keep it all going buying their software and FCTs, but maybe the customers' opinions counts for little with Auran.
