Caledonian Railway UQ Semaphore Arm

This is a long shot but would anyone happen to have the dimensions of a Caledonian railway upper quadrant home semaphore signal arm, including the spectacles? I need to know if I can fit a complete one in the back of my car.

I think the arm itself is in the region of 48" x 11" but I'm not sure if this is a railway-standard size.

Thanks in advance.

Does that apply specifically to Caledonian arms? I only ask as I've been informed that semaphore arms should be between 4-5' long and 9-11" wide according to an old standard.

Suggestion

.
Don't worry about getting it into your vehicle.

Acquire two of them and mount one on each side of your car.
They make great trafficators.:D

Hi
Ahh.....Here's another one....... here's another one
pfx would be able to claim the record as the first person to drive a car using semaphore signals.:mop::confused:

The measurements were for a Caledonian arm, but it seems to be pretty standard.

Surely that's Cambria...

Caledonia is very clearly the northen most country of Albion.

Paul, thanks for the info. I reckon a Mondeo should take all three.

Bill, it's perfectly legit. I'm planning a quick run over to Scotland to collect the arms. The post is already over here but at £50 for a day return, it's the cheapest way to get the rest of the stuff.

As for the rest of you comedians...
