Cabview lighting

Yeah, that ain't the only thing wrong with it - after admiring my lighting effects I opened the door and stepped out, it's about 40 feet to the ground! :eek: I read over some of the fixes for cabviews that are too high, from what I understand you have to kludge around it by adding the interior as a mesh attachment. Not going there unless I get really desperate.

tycoonk4, yeah, if you could HUMYO what you got I'd appreciate it. I'm downloading the C&NW AC4400 from the link you provided as we speak, see how that goes.

Got the C&NW engine working, removed the reference to the missing KUID and the other engine - is there a reason why some of these repaints refer to other repaints as dependencies? Anyway got the cab converted and working, but;

No controls and no needles? The data for the speedometer must be in there somewhere since the speed is displayed on the Raildriver LED (the cabview don't have to have an actual working visible speedometer, apparently, just needs whatever data is in the cabview file to send the speed readout to Raildriver). Question now, did I miss some bits and pieces, or is this an unfinished project? Has anyone made an actual working dash 9, FP45, GEVO, or RS 3 cabview with all the kibbles and bits present and correct? Free for repainting, obviously, I can't light it up and distribute to others if it's restricted.

what i love about this shot is the asprin bottle on the desk:hehe::o

Oh well. You should see my computer desk. It's piled with notes of various KUIDs and names of objects for surveyor, so i can refernce what i downloaded and/or used to modify an engine/car. Its utter chaos!

Yeah, the aspirin was originally for the MSTS route editor, then the railsim/railworks Rube Goldberg contraption they called a scenario editor, now I find a trainsim that has both a decent route editor and reasonably intelligent AI traffic and I gotta deal with the content manager. Can't win wherever I go, they all require aspirin. :'(

Sniper... in those interiors with all the gadgets, there are a ton of
im files referenced for each gadget. Your speedo needle happens to
be one of them. Check to see if auto create is present after the call
to the speedo im file, along with all the other stuff... brake handle, throtle, etc. Each one requires an auto create!

Im going to fix a cab for you.

You have some how made everything control go poof.

It works fine on my set up.

Thanks guys, set the auto activate on, got a button, four levers and a needle altho the horn button and reverser ain't animated for some reason. tycoonk4, downloading your stuff now, gonna be a while before I get to it cuz I got a situation developing over at trainsim.com I gotta deal with. Later! :wave:

I ain't all there, but I'm here!

Yeah, I looked at what you sent;

AC4400cw_ATSF.cdp
AC4400cw_BNSF.cdp
AC4400cw_CEFX.cdp
AC4400cw_CNW.cdp
AC4400cw_CP.cdp
AC4400cw_CSX.cdp
AC4400cw_KCS.cdp
AC4400cw_NS.cdp
AC4400cw_SP.cdp
AC4400cw_UP.cdp
Demo Dash 9..cdp

Near as I can tell those are all reskins of the same engine? Not really what I'm looking for, I already cloned and started reskinning the C&NW for the PO&N. All I really need is a cabview, which one has that?

And furthermore;

Not really a passenger train kinda guy, but the crazy Welshman posted a pic of a payware FP40 cab over at trainsim.com, which got me looking at the built in FP40, which has this cabview;

Methinks I can use that for the DD40. :cool:

That's the one, near as I can tell the cabview that came with whatever engine that was (I'm a senile old geezer, can't remember my own name half the time let alone what I downloaded two days ago, or was it three days?) was a screwed up clone. For this one I set the DD40 between a couple of Alco S4s so I could check the height;

And it looks about right;

So I won't need to fix that FP-45 cab. Searching for this stuff is nuts, set the filter for category = interior and I get so many cockpits for ME262s and B25s and 747s I think I took a wrong turn into the flightsim.com file library, and some of the actual train cabviews ain't categorized as interiors. I'll get it together eventually, gotta keep in mind I'm still a n00b when it comes to Trainz. :confused:

Cab bashing kit views!

Wait one, "kit bashing cab views". :hehe: Couldn't find any Alco RS series or GE 44tonner cabviews with working controls and gauges, so I stole the kibbles & bits from the generic SW cabview and kitbashed two;

GE 44 tonner, IndustRail GE44T cab <kuid:522774:1045> in the DLS.

Alco RS3, can also be used for the RS1 or RSD5, PON Alco RS3 cab <kuid:522774:1113> in the DLS. Free to reskin and use for other engines, permission granted. :cool: Both look kinda funky due to having non working control meshes inside, had to spin the 44 tonner cab shell 180 degrees to get the console out of the way, and the RS interior is somewhat cramped. Improvement on the original to my eye tho.

Got so many back burners now I had to hunt around to find which one I put that on. I'm getting to the age where I get sidetracked by other projects every five minutes and fall asleep with my beard in the soup. :sleep: Still got what I had a month ago for the dash9 cab, working speedometer but no brake gauges, ammeter needle don't work, throttle, dynamic, and train brake levers work, reverser lever don't move. I thought the Dash 9 / AC4400 console style controls had a combined throttle-dynamic handle, this one has a separate dynamic lever? Anyway I get one that works I'll light it up, otherwise I'll light up what I got if it's the best available.

Alco RS3 cabs, F7 cab, and a new control cab for a bilevel push-pull commuter cabcar are up now, working on finishing the scoots now. Oh yeah, I think I uploaded the SD40 cab, still working on the Harbormaster and IndustRail SD40 skins.

Thats the only one thats free.
There is only a speedometer gauge in it.
This was made for Trainz SP3 so it didn't use the improvements in later versions.
