Cab Ride in a Kiwi Ja loco

Scored a short ride in the cab of a oil fired loco today during an open day run by Mainline Steam in Auckland. Lots of fun. Run by enthusiasts who were very friendly and answered all my questions patiently. Awesome.

Do you have any pictures? It would be nice to see the mainline steam. Our local mainline doesn't like enthusiasts or steam up here in New England.

I actually think they don't like railroads either, but that's for another thread.

Have a look at www.steaminc.org.nz

Thay have Ja1271 that does main line trips and the last one they did this loco pulled 10 cariages. And all of them were full.
