Buried Asset

I forget the process to unearth a buried asset. In this case a locomotive.

Did you try pasting a blank spot over the track section using the old copy-paste tool? That deletes the track and hopefully the asset.

You could also try Delete Missing Assets. That seems to fix things with the track and the mesh.

Other than that, I'm at a loss because I haven't encountered this in a very long time either.

You probably have to remove the asset (assuming its not built in) in order for delete missing assets to touch it.

You could export to cdp, delete it, then run delete missing assets on the route, and after saving the route or session, reinstall the locomotive using the cdp.

This is located where? If it's the situation I'm familiar with, it's off the track and out in woods somewhere, or perhaps even off the baseboards. If it's your own route, delete missing assets will do the job, with the potential of lousing something else up. The route will be resaved too. If it's someone else's payware or 3rd party route, it gets problematic. I ran into this a lot porting sessions from 12 to T:ANE on what should have been the same map but apparently wasn't identical. Never have found an explanation for it.

I have had the same with importing from TS12 and from TS19 into TS22. One wagon was embedded somehow in a viaduct and you couldn't remove the wagon nor the viaduct as both were basically saying there is another asset here of a differnt type than you are trying to remove. I gave up in the end.

You can also just "Disable" the asset in CM. Load the session and delete missing assets, then go back to CM and Enable it.

The engine was buried in a field. Since it was a session element I did the Delete Missing Assets in the session and it worked.

THANKS

I had this happen just this past week. I had the green and red arrows above the track but no train.
I fixed it by deleting missing assets then resaving...Solved

Happened Again -- two train assets buried. I dumped TRS19 and moved the route to TRS22.
For now, only the usual issues diveded between me and N3V as culprits.
