Built In Items with Content Manager

Well I dont know whether to feel flattered or if I have misunderstood the meaning of a built in asset. I was checking some of my old items and the one I checked was Country Cottage made by yours truly eons ago. Is it built in as I have it on my hard drive or has it really become part of the Trains stuff?

I cant seem to find any of my old items in the DLS. Still discovering much with the new system.

Yup, it is a built-in. In the CM list you should see a laptop icon for an up-to-date installed asset. Hover your cursor over that icon, and see what it says. If it says "Built-in" then it is a built-in asset; if it says "Local" then it is an asset that you have installed.

The Search box in CM is quite flexible. Add and set the filters "Location" to "Download Station" and "Author" to "Kessica" to take a look at the stuff you have on the DLS that you do not already have installed.

Regards,

Retro.

Wow! I am flattered

If it helps bring you back to earth I think they even used one of mine somewhere. The process seems to be the select a route or layout and if it uses your asset then it becomes built in. Sometimes they even correct minor errors as well. It's interesting that Albert street is built in as some versions are 2,000-4,000 polys with no lod. It's mainly texture and I couldn't quite figure out how to lod it especially as its so big when would the lod cut in.

You have fifteen built in assets, and fifty four assets on the DLS as far as I can see.

Well Im still flattered!

I know the feeling. I was quite amazed that one of my simple buildings (a derelict LNER platelayer's hut) was included in TS2010. It wasn't even from a photo, just from a drawing in an old Model Railways magazine. Really makes you feel that you've arrived!
