Hello fellow trainzers

Im embarking on an ambitious project to recreate the London Underground and am asking for any assistance people can offer. Any Items on the DLS from trains and track to buildings and scenery and any websites that may have good photos of stations/track sections and or detailed maps of the underground.

Thanks!

Thanks guys, what is TPR?

Ive got a selection of LU trains now and some scenary on the DLS, Im mostly using AJS Tunnels and stations for the Subsurface sections and the LU tunnels and other items for the deep-ground sections when I get that far.

Oh and that carto metro site I have found before but thanks anyway it really has been the most useful resource!!

Sorry, I should have been clearer when I recommended TPR (Trainz Pro Routes) - I must have assumed that it is well known. You need to register to have access to the Download Station, but it is free so why not? There are a good few contributors of UK content, including for TR2004 which a lot of enthusiasts still use.

I have to agree with you; recreating the entire London Underground is an ambitious project. I have been spending countless hours recreating just the Circle Line after purchasing and playing World of Subways Vol. 3. I started by locating all the stations on that line using Google Earth to obtain the Lat/Long of each station. Using the Lat/Long reader object (after placing the world origin at an arbitrary station) I placed one at each location and connected them with track (the four rail variety). From the DLS I grabbed the LT D Stock DM, TC and UNDM cars, whose livery can be changed from unpainted aluminum, to complete the 6-car layout of the underground trains. To recreate the stations of the line (as best as possible) I googled images of individual stations to get an idea of what they looked like and built them from scratch. Some the the subway stations on the DLS are American by nature ("Exit" signs instead of "Way Out") in that the trains doors open on the wrong side but still allowing passengers on and off.

After working months on this project I am nowhere near completion but its been fun learning the history of the Circle Line and its environs.
