Passed a time after last SP1 and Hotfix I've decided to update my Train 12.

Which patch I need to download?

My surprise is that the build I have is 49922 greater than eny other else even the sp1!!

Thank you in advance

Make sure you copy the userdata folder to another location first. This gives you a backup to work with, in case a problem arises. I would suggest you also uninstall trainz, too. This will rule out any problems with upgrade and patch. Once that is done, reboot, then install JUST TRAINZ, no add on or content yet. Reboot, then apply SP1 to trainz. After it finishes, reboot, then apply the patch. Again this guarantees a clean updated version of trainz. After that completes, reboot, and go to Windows Explorer. At this point, do not, I repeat, do not launch trainz yet. If you do, it will have a bunch of database processes running, and we don't want that just yet. So, now you go to the newly installed trainz directory, move the new userdata folder to another location. Now for the best part: move your original userdata folder back to the location where you just removed the new one. Okay, now reboot, launch trainz, select content manager, see if your content is there. It should be. You might need a Quick Database Repair, or not. Try and see if your routes and train vehicles are showing up, even look in railyard or surveyer. If it is not throwing up errors, try launching a session. Now, keep in mind, the most common error will be on the old content not having thumbnails mapped correctly. You have a couple of options. One, you can go in content manager and edit them to use the proper thumbnail. I prefer the second option, which works fine. You could just edit in content manager the following way, which results in just a yellow ! warning, and that works fine: edit in content manager the thumbnail container, you will see a "0" with the improper mapping, or possibly no thumbnail container; what I found works is if you have an empty thumbnail container, without the "0" item. The rules set in place by the SP1 looks for a thumbnail that is mapped or an empty container, one gives you an error if not mapped right, the other does not. Good luck with this. You should consider teamviewer.com or WebEx, for remote assistance if you have any need for help.

I would say, why don't you wait SP1 to be fixed first, that way you will not have to get into the flood of unsatisfied post SP1 trainzer.

P.-S. I came back to build 49922.

You mean you don't have to format your harddrive too? ;)

All this ^ is why I'm sticking with Build 49922. It's my decision. I have my Trainz working fine now. Why should I screw it up?

Cheers!

Yes, but, your content seems to be compliant for SP1 and patch, so I don't know what could go wrong with your content. Cotton Belt Route is as wonderful as ever, a little more FPS too. But, for compatibility, you could just keep on doing what you do best with the version you have. Works fine for me.

Ditto :hehe: I agree with you Dave. I'll wait a while until all them bugs are worked out. Why get frustrated, when all we need to exhibit is a little patience folks? Let's enjoy ourselves with Trainz everyday; and enjoy the fruits of: "SP1" when the time is right  In the mean time, I be ridin' high... highballing' along the "Cotton Belt" while the rest of ya' :mop:Speaking of "bugs" I just downloaded all your new and wonderful assets Dave [as always]; including (of course), your "Bacteria" [asset! You read that right people.] :udrool: Dave you funny guy you :D And folks, these "bugs" are Trainz friendly [regardless of Patch or if: "SP1" was installed] :hehe: For those of you wise enough not to install the "SP1" patch just yet... happy Railroadin' !!! ;)

I think one of the best decisions I have made since I downloaded TS12, was not to run the update. All my routes work, I don't have to fix anything, my frame rates are good, no stutters, stuff doesn't disappear, I don't have to worry what is going to happen the next time I run a session,,,,,.. Can't beat it........ :D

Ditto to you too there Bob :D It's as if our "SP1 Trainz" friends not only have encountered a tremendous snowstorm on the "high iron" [or have been engulfed by a swarm of bees -for that matter :hehe: ] but, now find themselves immersed within this deep dark tunnel, with no foreseeable "light" at the end of it... or in other words, the great abyss [ok, I might be exaggerating... just a little :o ] tee hee! ... "Speed Treez" with dark and eerie "shadows" within them  I say leave these "black holes" in space, and in the upcoming Star Trek movie -and light years away from our Trainz :hehe: No joke. I was just reading someone's post where upon he had installed "SP1" and witnessed the surreal. What might at one time been treez (along his cyber RR), now hoppin' trainz!!! When Dave Snow said "... Why should I screw it up?" he was just being respectful; but [presently] it sounds like utter madness out there... and I'm a scared... I'M A SCARED to install: "SP1"; especially with the enormous amount of content I've already accumulated and installed to my version of TS12  [And yes, to that one would be smart-aleck out there: I know the: "Speed Treez" shadow problem had recently been fixed. I brought it up to make my point.]
