Doing completely unrelated relative computations regarding a locomotives dimensions and maximum performance, and I'm including this 4-2-0 for reference.
http://www.steamlocomotive.com/locobase.php?country=USA&wheel=4-2-0&railroad=nyc gives a credible sustained speed of 24mph; I would suspect a maximum of 30mph.
BUT
Somewhere, Somehow, I recall reading Something that stated Brother Johnathon hit up to 80mph. Now I sincerely do not believe this, but does anyone have any clue where there might be any info backing up such a ludicrus claim?
I ask principly because, if true, Brother John would be an enourmous outlier in my dataset, even with the Mallard, John Stevens, and J3a @ 700rpm included.
