British Pullmans: What Locomotives?

Hi all,

I have been reading up on the British Pullman coaches, and I'd like to know what locomotives could be seen pulling these cars. The reason this question came to mind, is because I have been playing around with andi06's British Pullmans, and wanted to know what engines were suitable.

Just about any express passenger loco would be suitable to haul those coaches, although it would really depend on what time period the coach liveries included in andi06's models were based off of.
Off the top of my head, the default livery of the coaches would work with LNER A3's, A4's, any LNER Atlantics, LBSCR H2 Atlantics, SR King Arthurs, Lord Nelsons, Light Pacifics, and Merchant Navies, and any BR standard Pacifics and the Deltics. All either in their grouping or BR colors.

I think the pre-'20s Pullman livery would work with most express passenger locos in pre-grouping colors. It's my understanding that the crimson lake livery was used on some railways, but I'm unsure of which and when.

AFAIK, the Pullman trains were primarily the domain of the LNER and the Southern railways. The LMS did have some ex-Pullman coaches but they were not used for proper Pullman trains.

Later, in the immediate post steam era, the LMR had the Manchester and Liverpool Pullman trains, but as I understand, these were discontinued by the Mid 80's.

Andi06's Pullman coaches from memory, are of the later non matchboard stock(I forget the proper name for it).
