Bristol Temple Meads

Thanks to Angela & ex-railwayman.
Is all fixed now.........

BTW Angela, "A Tabletop Model" runs nicely in '09 native mode. More to add yet............

The trees, of course, are a problem.

Cheers,
Laurie Whelan

Sir Knight

Your knight in shining armour is back to help you out again Angela.......:hehe:

If you go onto Patricia's website and register, then on the Download page scroll down to the bottom to vehicules and in there is a pack called MB Actros, and within the pack is the lorry MB Actros Harsch on kuid:132574:39000.

Dear Sir Knight....
Thanks for that info. Goodness knows how I got it, I rarely get stuff in bits and pieces from outside sites, only ones like the Hungarian and JVC's or something I might feel is vitally important like Bloodnock's track.
The truck may have been in the original Trainz, not sure about that, but as it threw up problems during the beta testing I removed it - or at least thought I had! Well, you all know what 'thought' did....
At least the hiccup has been resolved thanks to your seemingly never empty memory pot! I don't know how you do it, memory I mean before anybody thinks otherwise....

A much appreciated gesture and thanks for the help too... ha ha.

Bless you,

Angela

Hmmmm, I think having a bacon butty on a Saturday morning gives my little grey memory cells the necessary exercise.....:hehe:

Hello Angela
Hope you are well and to say have a great xmas and a happy new year.

Your Bristol Temple Meads is a brilliant peice of work and enjoy it very much. But just recently ive smashed it up into little bits and set about rebuilding it as best I can. Very complex trying to find and place splines so it looks like your route. WHY? Well ive only just discovered that the orientation of the route was the wrong way round (West to East instead of North to South) when I tried to match it to other parts of this area the tracks went the wrong way. Ive rotated all the boards and placed all the ground and building objects by doing a copy and paste but now ive got the splines to do and you dont skimp on them. Track and stations are done its the little bits like fences, roads etc that need to be done.

Wow, you are a martyr! Yes, I realised it was 180 out about 3/4 of the way through the build, one reason I put portals on because I then knew it wouldn't line up with a correct route from west or east. But I had taken many, many months to get that far, maybe nearly a year, so just couldn't face the prospect of starting all over again.
If you do manage to get it rotated please feel free to put it on the DS, you'll do that with my blessing and I am sure many people will be delighted.

Good luck.

Angela

Cheers Angela
The whole route has been rotated and track and all but the two stations on the parkway section done (bristol bath road to be placed as this was not on the copy I had rotated). That was the easier part, its just all the spline objects that now need placing. Some splines may have been replaced by something similar as its not easy to get the splines in exactly the same position as the original. Will send you a copy when done for your approval.

We are blessed with such as yourselves and others.
Merry Christmas and a healthy New Year from Hong Kong (a family Christmas gathering).
:)

Got it!

Cheers Angela

Dear Keith,
The file arrived safely attached to a mail so I will look at it soon when I open 2004.
Thank you for taking a very difficult task on, a brave soul indeed....

What I am needing right now is a canopy spline for Westbury....

Bless you,

Angela

Tracks

I notice you have used different tracks. I assume this is to help you see clearly which are the main lines and which aren't.
You will also find that unless Priority Marks are used trains running in from the western side will go whizzing through the side tracks and then the sidings. I set the marks at 1 for sidings so nothing else would go there, main lines trains set to 3 so they only run on Priority 3 tracks (the main lines) and will then keep out of any sidings as they approach the station.

I haven't had a lot of time today to look at it much more than that, still working hard on the second section of the London-Plymouth route, WCL2 in other words.

Angela

Still lots to do to complete the route but what you have is what ive managed since the end of October. Im doing small sections at a time and when done delete those bits from the original so I know what is left to do. As ive mentioned my era is more around the 60s and ive been trying to get hold of the Bristol to Taunton book that middleton press sold. Have a few days off after the new year so hopefuly can get stuck in to the rest of the splines. As for the track work, like you said different track types to find the tracks which carry differing amounts of rolling stock, main line busy loop line busy but not as important as main line and various side tracks. Which is the main line platforms at Bristol? under the covered roof would seem the obvious but track layout would make the outside platforms more likely.

Good to see you are still able to keep up your brilliant work

Dear Keith,
Just checked your orientation and it is spot on. Well done for getting it right, something I failed miserably to do....
And I didn't set the elevation either so it is most likely that a link from my WCL sections won't sit very well... sorry about that.
The reason is that I didn't actually start out making BTM, I was just fiddling about but I got carried away and this is how it ended up.
Had I began with the intentions of doing it the best way forward would have been on a DEM, then it would certainly have linked in.

Still, you have solved one major problem, at least the Sun will rise and set in the correct places now!

Was Bath Road depot in at the time period you are working in?

Bless you,

Angela

Bristol was given colour lights in the 1930s as part of an employment-creating scheme.

Bath Road wasn't demolished until around 2000, but was definitely still working in the 1990s.

Hi Angela and everyone.

I would really like to download the Bristol Temple Meads session, but can’t find it any where on Angela’s site.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks.

Hello Craig,
I have not put this route on my site, but it is on the DS, you can download from there.

Angela

Hi Angela.

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately I am unable to download anything at the moment, long story. I have sent a ticket to Auran about having problems with the DLS.

In the meantime, is there any chance you could email me the Bristol Temple Meads route please?

I have been really enjoying using your Coast Line One Paddington to Reading.

Thanks for any help.

Craig.

I can't say for certain, but I don't think Angela would do this a the present time. There have been a few members that have been contacted by some bogus members asking for content. There have been a few pirate sites offering content for download recently which is causing concern. No member of the the trainz community will send anything via e-mail, unless it is some one they really know and trust. Please do not take offence if you are refused. We are only playing safe. Hope you get your problem the DLS sorted soon. It is worth waiting for this route. it is one of Angela's more interesting routes to date.

Angela I hope I have not been to forthcoming in what I have posted.

Regards Dave.

Hi Stationbeem.

Thank you for replying. I am not offended in anyway by your post nor will I be if Angela does not email me the route.

I can understand what you said about bogus members asking for content after seeing a few sites offering a serial number for TRS. (2006 & on).

I also hope it wont be too long be for I can use the DLS as there are a few locomottives I’d like to download. ;)

Angela, hope you don’t mind me asking, but why have you not put this route on your website?

Regards, Craig.

I am afraid I was pestered by PMs recently, as Stationbeem has said, and in the end had to post on the forum about it.
So at present I am not mailing anything to do with Trainz until I know there is clearance from above.
Please be a little patient, the route will still be on the DS once your little hiccup with Auran is sorted.
Why haven't I put it on? I have forgotten how I did it, so quite a simple explanation...

And thanks to Stationbeem for coming forward and also explaining the situation regarding mails. It is a shame when people try to do this kind of thing and it puts (or at least should) all of us on our guard.
We cannot afford to have the veracity of Trainz infiltrated in any way.

Bless you for your patience,

Angela

Angela I just downloaded your Bristol route and I have found a lot of missing assets. If you wish I can send you a list or show list but can you give me a link to any sites you have used items from thanks.
