Since applications for a stand closed last year, and I've had talks with the 'powers that be' that I can talk with, sadly, it seems that Auran will not be having a stand at the Brisbane Model Railway show this year. Myself, and two others are going to try to 'get something happening' - but I've been a bit slack in my communications with them - and I apologise for this, RL has kept me awfully busy.
I was hoping that they would be there so that I could personally pick up my copy of TS2009 ...
... THAT WAS ORDERED ON 2 FEB, PAID FOR ON 3 FEB AND STILL SHOWING SHIPPING PENDING TODAY DESPITE MANY COMPLAINTS AND SEVERAL HELPDESK CONTACTS
On a slightly less beligerent note it is a pity that TOTR (that's Trains on the Road for all you newbies) has lapsed. A few years ago I was one of those who spent some time at the Brisbane Show demonstrating the product and it was a very enjoyable experience.
I did the same thing for several years, just after Trainz was first released. It was great fun to sit down and demonstrate what Surveyor could do, and how easy it is to use.
Pity Auran aren't having a stand again this year. They could have brought TS09 to the attention of a lot of people...
Here is a photo of Tony Hillman from Auran and I at a very sucesful train show in Brisbane California a few years ago. Tony is on the right and I am under the hat, demoing Trainz.
