All the best,

Trainz Discussion Forums"

Bogus or not? Have not opened nor will I.

I would have a look at my messages and see if you have one. Click on your "Notifications" tag at the top right of the form and then click inbox.

Thanks very much for prompt and helpful reply.

I feel honoured that Auran take the time away from Tane to PM me;)

I've received marketing PMs from Trainz Premium Routes. They also frequent my YouTube channel to advertise in the comments section of my videos.

Kieran.

I've also received a PM from okhiu / TPR.

I regard this as spam and think action should be taken by the helpdesk.

Decision by a monitor appreciated as to whether this is spam. Poster should use correct forum - if allowed.
NOT PM'ing us.

If there were a poll, I would vote that it's not spam, as having visited the home page of the website, and the image linked to, both appear to be legitimate offers to sell Trainz related content. And there already is a correct forum for this: <http://forums.auran.com/trainz/forumdisplay.php?21-Payware-Announcements>,

Must be lucky as for some reason I didn't receive this.

Nevertheless, while not necessarily spam, it's certainly unethical use of the forum PM facility to effectively "cold call" members about the existence of a product. An appropriate post in the Freeware or Payware Announcements would be more appropriate? Otherwise if every freeware or payware developer started doing this our Inboxes would quickly fill up with junk!

Whilst I haven't received any PMs on that subject, I do know the user in question also 'advertises' on the Blogs page as well.

Shane

I received the PM and sometime I view his forums posts. I have also visited his site but have no interest. I do not appreciate the SPAM advertisements so I put him on my blocked list.

Note that you can report PM's.

If you are being contacted just for advertisement, report it (the same way as you can report posts) as that sounds to me like a violation of rule 12 of the CoC. That way a moderator can step in.

He has done this spamming in the past, apparently he is doing it again.

I would however not be surprised if the moderators just let him go, just like with his signature image.

I suggest the same...

Regarding his signature, I believe when I was a moderator I spoke PM'd him regarding it. Sometimes things get ignored for some reason.
