BNSF WINTER Yard(Warning large Pics!)

Joshmeister,

It looks great.

I live in Denton. Which yard is that, exactly?

And for all the days we actually have snow on the ground in Fort Worth. Why are you doing it as a Winter Yard?

OK, I found out that the name of this yard is "Alliance Yard."

What I would like to do is go online and try to find a good overhead pic of the yard or even the yard's "Blueprints" (Map of the yard) Would I be able to find things like the Blueprints for this yard online?

Josh,

Here are two arial shots of Alliance yard:
http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=112539
http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=82799

The classification yard is on the west side of the main and the intermodel yard is on the east side.

BNSF may have a hump at North Yard or Saginaw, I'm not as familiar with those yards. There are so many in this area.

It's not trivial to make sense of the railroads around Fort Worth.
As Jeff Ritter says on his website for his Fort Worth Beta route,
"The trackage and interchanges on this layout may seem to some to be quite strange, unusual, and somewhat unprototypical due to multiple crossings, interchanges and yards. It is important to remember that several railroads laid tracks here and each had yards, industries and interchanges with other railroads. The railroads included ATSF, BN, Chicago Rock Island Pacific, MKT, Missouri Pacific, Texas Pacific, FW&D, SP, OK&T, SSW, and KCS.
Due to mergers, these railroads eventually became part of the railroads that currently serve Fort Worth, BNSF, SP, UP, and Fort Worth & Western. BNSF and UP make up the majority of the trackage found here now and therefore cross each other several times, and have multiple classification yards. The Fort Worth & Western uses old SSW, OK&T, and ATSF routes."

Thats true.............By the way......... nice pics........... and I see that I need to change my yard layout some (Alot) plus its been about 3 years since Ive been to that yard, less tracks than I thought.... So I might as well start all over on this yard but will still work on the first yard some.(I will post some pics in an hour or so of the 2 attempet at this yard.

Wish Me luck

I tried to find a shot of the yard from right above it (EGample.....Like this one) But Cant find one of the Alliance yard.....) ThIS will be harder than I thought...
