BNSF St. Croix Subdivision

Hi Everyone,

I've decided to start a new project. It is 150 miles, from the city of La Crosse, WI, to the city of Prescott, WI. This is the BNSF's St. Croix Subdivision. Now I know I'm not the best at route building, and I give up on a lot of stuff, or just lose interest in it, but I'm really enjoying working on this one. So, here is the first shot.

It's probably obvious as to where it is, but guess...:p

More to come soon!

I lose interest and motivation when building 99% of my routes. Rocky Pass RR is the only one i've got motivation for, and the biggest i've made!:) :D

I find that to be the hardest part for route building. Keeping interest & enough enthusiasm to keep the project going.

Yeah, I think it helps me when I have had experiences with the line. An example that pertains to me is that I have been around the Maryland section of the NEC for longer than I can remember and I continue to visit it so I have a good flow of motivation to keep working on it.

Good work so far!

What you see in this screen is pretty much how far my version got.

Also, given theres a DEM avalible - why don't you use it?

How did you get the DEM to look like that???

@Rugrat: I'm not using the DEM at this point because I want to have some kind of personal touch to the route. Using a DEM would mean I'm just copying some Red and Blue lines. But if I knew how to get the Google Earth images into Trainz, I would use that. Until then, I'm just doing it the way I'd like to do it.

As for the route, I have laid track all the way up to Alma, WI. I'm too lazy to post a screenie though. My level of excitement on this has gone down, but I'm still going for it. Thanks for the encouragement :hehe:

Here is a good video for you to get:

Seeing that that's the area your doing...Unless you have it already lol

I am watching it now as I type this....Looks like I might have to upgrade my TRS so I can run your route......

Keep up the good work :Y:
