BNSF Harbor Subdivision and other Lines from/to Los Angeles and/or Long Beach Harbor

I have a dream that my favorite line which is the Harbor Subdivision that will be in Trainz for the future. Also I have great plans to do the Harbor Subdivision Route(BNSF/AT&SF). I've been learning some/alot on the Harbor Subdivision. The Harbor Sub was operated by AT&SF Then BNSF before the Alameda Corridor open in 2002.

hi leon2008andre2004

you should get a track chart book for the area and they can be found on ebay, this will help a long with google earth as well as spending a day or two checking out the areas in which you wish to reproduce into Trainz.

this seller may have what you need http://stores.ebay.com/RailfanDepot.

thanks

I use to chase trains back in the day. I live a about 1.5 miles from the branch, close by the Mobil refinery where BNSF stores stack trains, power and consist for the Harbor.

Did you notice that the Harbor Subdivision uses track warrant control instead of signals? And By the way if I do finish the Harbor Sub Route. The Next route I might do will be the Alameda Corridor or the Union Pacific Wilmington Subdivision(Southern Pacific Amoco Line(Former Pacific Electric Line)). Next thing I'm concerned about the Union Pacific Wilmingoton Subdivision(Southern Pacific Amoco Line/Former Pacific Electric Line).

I downloaded google earth. Next plan is to download blender and the blender trainz exporter and look at the gmax tutorial so I can create the tracks for the Harbor Subdivision, Alameda Corridor and Union Pacific(Former SP) Wilmington Subdivision. First I'm going to use google skectch up for the tracks then exported to Blender or Gmax.

For such a long title, I thought there would be much more pictures posted to look at in this thread. Kinda disappointed:hehe:.

Yea, I can agree with you, but hearing about it sounds amazing, I don't mean to discourage you though.

Also did you notice that the Harbor Subdivision is next to the Metro Green Line and it goes under the Metro Green on Aviation Blvd? and also did you notice that the Harbor Subdivision goes under the Metro Blue Line Slauson Station? And now my concern is that the Union Pacific Wilmington is next to the Metro Blue Line.

I had trouble with Gmax. Now I'm going to try blender instead, first I'm going try to use google sketchup and then exported to Blender and then exported to Trainz. I started to follow the lines on Google earth so I can remember how to follow the line very carefully.

Hello Long time no see I just started on the route I decided to rename the route Lines to Long Beach Harbor. Also I use the Jointed Rail Tracks I downloaded and the same Safetran signals I looked up at the download station.

Also I installed Google Sketchup and I'm making plans to create the Century Bridge and two of the other bridges in Google Sketchup that was used on the Harbor Subdivision, and I heard that LACMTA bought the line from BNSF and I also heard that there's a Crenshaw Corridor Line coming soon.

G'day!

I wouldn't go with Google Sketchup. Because when you import the model into Trainz, the amount of polys will be very large. The larger the polys -> the more your computer has to render and thus performance issues. I would try learn a program like GMax or 3Ds MAX and make models in those. Much better than Sketchup.

Cheers!

Jake.

Well basically I download 3Ds Max and I try install it and it was blocked, and tried it more than one time, so I might want to try to install Blender. Also the reason why I want to try Google Sketchup is because I want to create the Bridges which is the Century/LAX/Aviation Bridge, that was used back in 1990's so I can import it to any of the programs like 3ds Max, Gmax, and Blender, so I decided on Blender, and I might be able to Export the model to Trainz, I heard the some of the users had use Google Sketchup and exported to any 3 of the programs and then Trainz, and sometimes users export Google Sketchup models to Trainz by using the RubyTMIX. Also I'm looking into creating a fictional route based on a model railroad layout, and a fictional light-rail based on book I read in the 5th grade which is "New Providence a changing cityscape" and it was the best book and I like how the setting was taking place it would be great, and it will take some time.
