Hi. Each Blender square on the grid is a metre starting at the default cube. Cube is 2 metres.................. S to scale, followed by x or y or z, depending if scaling in just one direction. ......Same with scaling UV textures S followed by X or Y if you wish........... Use - or + on numpad if scaling up to say 10 metres, 100 metres or whatever to make the view bigger or smaller, or use middle mouse wheel........ Alt plus left mouse to move mesh window view in any direction....... Numpad 7 top, 1 and 3 front/side..... Hold down control for opposites bottom/back etc....... P.S Basic tutorials no longer available on my site........ Shift plus right mouse to select a few vertices.......... A for all in edit mode........ W on keyboard gives you a list of options................ X on keyboard to delete and list of options in edit mode, etc.......... Control plus Z to restore if you make an error...........E to extrude. B to draw a square to sElect. or B twice for a circle..........middle mouse wheel to adjust size....G to grab...H to hide....... Alt plus H to restore... Control plus J. to join and P to seperate selected vertices..........................Barry...forgot R to rotate...triangle symbol is face select in edit mode...Alt plus Z will put textures on using UV window in edit mode. ..Z wireframe.
You can also use mouse gestures to transform objects. Drawing a circle on the screen (click, drag), will rotate, drawing a V shape will Scale, and drawing a line will activate move.
Have a dig in the wikibook for trainz it is covered there. Basically clone something similar then replace the .im file. You just have to match the names.
