Birthing a new site for Trainz information

I have put together a forum for Trainz and Ham Radio information. I have also included a chat system. The site is secured by SSL if you prefer an encrypted connection. The url is https://www.kd7eir.com/forum. The chat is at https://www.kd7eir.com/forum/chat.

It is hosted on a very reliable hosting service, and co-located in two separate geolocations for redundancy. Downtime should be virtually unheard of.
I have unlimited space, bandwidth, and domain hosting capability, so I can offer hosting space to anyone that needs it for Trainz or any decent content.

Registration for the forum is fairly simple. There is a CAPTCHA, and you will have to respond to an email, but you will not have to wait for me to approve you.

Right now I just have one sub-forum for Trainz. I will add more according to what anyone would like to see there. Eventually I will be hosting the reskins that I am working on (only the ones for which I can get permission.)

If you are so inclined, drop by and take a look. Feel free to leave me any feedback about what you would be interested in seeing on the forum.

That's awesome. I'll take a look when I get a chance and let you know of anything that needs tweaking.

Looking good so far - the more users, the merrier I'd say. If you have any suggestions for the forums, let me, Malc, or the OP know.

A reminder - if you haven't signed up yet, it's worth looking into.

Registering only takes a few minutes, and the activation process is as simple as clicking a link in an email - the OP will sort out the required permissions so you can post.

Shane

P.S. When registering, please use the same username you use here, as it is easier for both the OP and the moderators to identify who you are if you are using the same username as you use here.

Hopefully - me, Malc and the OP can work together to help keep it clean. As it stands, there are not many members on the site so things are calm (unlike here, where things can get rough at times).

Shane

I cannot seem to see you on the member list - have you received your activation email? The OP may well have seen your account.

Shane

EDIT: Just noticed your name appearing - hope to see you posting on said forum soon.

Looks nice. I'll bite. :) Hopefully many more will too to make this forum a good substitute for the official Trainz forum for the future times it goes down.

Indeed - I've noticed your name in there. If you have any suggestions for making it even better, let me or the OP know, as both me and kd7eirjim have the ability to create new forums.

I can't really think of any additional forums that would be nice to add right now ("Route Pictures" is a general screenshot forum, right?). The only comment I can make right now is that the default theme is a bit odd to me, with posts' author information positioned to the right of the post content instead of the left or top, but that is easily corrected by changing the theme from "prosilver" to "subsilver2" in the user control panel.

Hi Felix,

I have noticed your registration.

All:

Please remember to check your email in order to activate your forum account - whilst it is possible to manually activate accounts, it is preferred that the email link is used.

If you have not received the email, let me or the OP know, as we can send reminders.

At the current moment there are two users who need to check their email and click the activation link.

Shane
