Better option...take a train

I agree

I am old enough to remember when flying was a pleasant, dignified experience. Now, flying (in the USA at least) means:

1. We assume you are a terrorist - prove us wrong.
2. We assume that you don't mind being treated like cattle loaded into a cattle car. Deal with it.

I am fortunate to live in a town served by Amtrak (the only one in Idaho, USA). Unfortunately, both eastbound and westbound depart in late evening-early morning. But it beats driving 2 hours to an airport to be abused.

If given the choice between an Amtrak train or a jet, I'll take Amtrak. But, there's an exception. If it was between an Amtrak train and a jet from Pan Am. Then forget the Genesis units, I'm taking the jet to be spoiled by lovely women! :D

Well said schweitzerdude.
So the trains are still running on the NEC and stuff? Kudos to them :)

A lot of fights have been cancelled down here, except the problem is human caused, a large number of QANTAS employees have gone on strike demanding better pay.

I found out from a TV news show that a disabled man who uses a wheelchair was stuck on an airplane for more than 7 hours. I think that he had to pee on the floor of the airplane rather than risk getting an infection. I think that the pilot tried to ask the airport to tow the airplane to the terminal but they refused to do so.

I don't know about you, but they run the local freight railroad up here. I mean they're running the local freight railroad into the ground with lack of maintenance just like their short lived revival of the great famous airline. The FAA pulled their license to fly!

The women on the planes aren't as lovely as they used to be. When I flew last spring, they all looked old and haggered. That could be because it was United Airlines...

Further news updates indicate that the Jet Blue pilot pleaded with airport officials to let the people get off the plane.

There are recordings of his plea to officials going around the news nets.

Finally, things got so out of control on the plane, the pilot demanded that the police get there. The police arrived, saw the situation then called for help and the people were able to get off.

So, it was not the fault of Jet Blue, but of the airport itself.

Regards,

As an airplane flyer yes, but as a railroad no. Pan Am Railways is what became of Pan Am the airline after Guilford Transportation bought them. They flew the "Yankee Clipper" service from Portsmouth, NH and Bedford, MA for a few years, or until the maintenance got so bad on their airplanes that the FAA shut the operation down.

The beautiful blue color is very deceiving...
