Beta testing from steam?

Hello.
Shouldn't Steam users be able to get beta releases too? When I click on the "NONE - Opt out of all beta programs" button, It does nothing.

The way I understand Steam and betas, is that Steam encourages initial beta versions BEFORE full release, but not after. Once software initially launches, all updates need to be fully functional release versions.

Unfortunately due to the way that Steam handles beta testing, it is not currently possible to access beta releases through Steam.

Unfortunately it is also very time consuming to build each beta release, and as such we only provide beta releases for the digital download release of Trainz from the Trainz Store (in many cases, early beta releases for a new update or release are for PC only as well). Producing beta releases for the Steam editions will take a lot more time that would otherwise be spent bug fixing, or working on other tasks.
