I've been trying to insert a non-Trainz image into one of my posts by using a Dropbox URL. But all I get is that little blue box with the question mark.
What is the best way to insert non-Trainz images into posts?
Most posters use a free external image hosting web site of which there are many. https://postimages.org/ is the one that I use but others have their own favourites. You can also use the Trainz Gallery.
The exact instructions for placing a hosted image into the forums will vary from host to host.
Normally, at PostImage, I just select the image, click Share and then click the copy icon next to the Direct Link option from the list shown. I then paste the link, using the Insert Image tool, in a forum post.
Some image hosting sites use very long addresses (probably so they can track who looks up the image). These sites should be avoided. Use a site that creates an address that can fit within the allowed space for forum usage (probably 127 characters).
You can post any image you find on the innerwebs, by right clicking, copying the image properties URL, and pasting that line into the Square-"Insert Image" button line that pops up (that is right next to the "Insert Video" button)
