Beginner looking for basic sessions for training

Hi all,

Im doing good and love 12 so far.
Looking for some easy freight sessions to train myself with. Did good with passgr. and schedules.
Trying to figure out CM / DS, finally got downloaded Industrial Freights, from CM, there is no instructions on what to do with it but I will play with it to see.

Can you give me some suggestions on what are good sessions to download please.

Want ones that tell me what to do to learn (go here get, get this construct, deliver here, etc. etc.)
Prefer more than just pick and drop, would also like freight style, assemble trains, drop pieces by pieces. like the old MS Train Sim style without all the bugs. lol

Have pass so downloads no a problem. Just need content for some guidence and practice.

Google Virtualrailroder. A lot of good stuff there on the use of the program. Some is dated but still relevant. Best way to learn is build your own.

There I go, once I learn this damn thing I might make a nice big mag-lev freight or anti-grav (Back to the Future liner LOL)

When I first bought TRS2006, one of the first routes I downloaded was The Bear Paw Lumber route at Virtualrailroder. Small and sweet. You're a switcher servicing the lumber mill. AI trains brought in and took away loads. Of course, you had to take control of them to do so.*
I lost a long cold weekend to it. Lost several years once I dug into Session Rules and Commands because of it. Modified it so AI trains got activated by triggers to switch their own cars out from the small yard. Taught me a lot.*
Most of my little routes are like that. Usually based on model railroad plans. I take the plan, alter it to work in Trainz and THEN build the route to fit the scenario.*
I have no idea if that little route will show in TS12. Phil here has some great routes but might be a bit overwhelming to dissect if you are new. Some of his confuse me now. Well thought out but, he has years of experience building them. Start with something small. Once you hit that edit session button, your mind will be blown by all that is available. I lost count of how many times I altered track work to get the session to run within the program's limitations.*
Check out that little route. Build your own small route even without scenery, develop a working reason for it to exist, bang your head to get it to work and learn. For me, that is the biggest fun of Trainz.

How do I install the zip file to Trainz?
Where do I extract it to so Trainz will see it as a new session?

Open it like any other Zip file to Desktop. Then import to Trainz. Once unzipped, you should have a CDP Trainz can recognize. If I remember right, four CDPs One for the route, three for the sessions.*
Zip files are just containers. Like a letter stuffed in an envelope. You have to open the envelope to read what is in it.*

About your question. You might like these two sessions:
Woodridge switching - Clear instructions at the start and then for you to figure out how to drop off and pick up your cargo. Little puzzle, taking 40-55 minutes.
Coal for Charlescrossing - Clear instructions during the whole session. Picking up and dropping off coal with some minor switching activity. 1 hour and 25 minutes.
Both easy sessions.

That registration thing is a pain. I wish I could help. This is out of my hands down under in Australia. Charles (Cratey), Zec, and Spiffy have to work on this one.

There are all kinds of sessions to try. As mentioned, Phil Skene, made some awesome routes that are not only great for learning but also fun to drive too. I drive them often myself when I'm not in Surveyor.
