Having just uploaded my latest project (the Sulitjelma line from Northern Norway) I'm taking a couple of weeks off from route building, to catch up with a few other jobs.
However been thinking about the next project and I'm quite keen to tackle a North American prototype. Got a few ideas on the shortlist, but the one that appeals is the BC Rail line from North Vancouver up to Squamish or possibly as far as Whistler (I would like to go to Lillooet but that's around 160 miles and a bit far).
First question then - to avoid any duplication of effort, has this route already been done for TRS2006 or is anyone actively working on a version (so I don't tread on any toes)?
Second question - how easy is it to obtain decent DEM and online 1:50,000 scale maps for western Canada, an essential pre-requisite? A gradient chart would also be useful!
