Backdateing Content from TS09 to TRS06?

I apoligize if this was discussed before, but I didn't find anything on it, If anyone knows how to back date Content from 2009 to 2006 please do tell I'm trying to get this engine to work... (Whitepass's New RS-1, please don't reply with Get trainz 09, Because i'll get it when i can, which ISN'T right now)

In theory it would mean changing the trainz-build tag data for the locomotive itself and the engine spec, however the bogey is also made for 2.9 and I got it from the DLS. I don't know if it's available anywhere else so you might either need TS2009 or better to download the bogey or have to find a replacement. And that assumes the model is even capable of being used in TS2006.

Well I have all the files, no missing dependices, Changed the Trainz build to 2.5 for the trucks, config, & engine but it doesn't work.... But I sent it to simulatortrain, And he got it to work.

The engine spec probably needs to be switched as well to a TRS2006 one.

The two lines in the config.txt need to be changed:

category-region "CA;US"
category-era "1940s;1950s;1960s;1970s"

this is the new form for TRS6 and up. The textures are very big and may give slow performance on TRS6 and under and the LOD will not work at the right time in TRS4.

Ok thanks for the idea's, I'll go test them right now, & Thanks for the input Whitepass. Just got the new ALCO engine sound from jadebullet, need a test subject..

I am also using TRS 2006. When I tried to download some 09 items, the DLS tells me that I need a 2009 serial number. I have no problem down loading 2006 and earlier assets. Is there a work around for this?

I just checked the Config, already has that in it, I'll try swapping the engine spec though..

tomurban, I'm afraid not, if your downloading from the DLS, Only reason i've gotten the RS-1 is because all the files are on Trainzproroutes

Thanks for your response gaugetamper. I can live with 2006 and older stuff, although the detail and quality of some items is marginal. Fortunately, I have been able to download some payware items from various sources that are outstanding in their level of detail.

The newer TS2010 items are worth having, especially the add ons.
