Back To TRS2006 For Me

Despite what it says it appears TRS2009 doesn't have ALL the Built-In Content of TRS2006. I just installed it. Then i installed all my custom content and scenarios. In 06, there are no missing dependencies. In 09, there are 80.
Upon looking in my CMP for 06, I found all the missing dependencies are Built-In.

And the new Content Manager really pisses me off. It takes way too long to install things.

I'm using TRS2006 but did buy 2009. However with a steady drip of comments coming in I may be right holding off?!

09 and CM

IMHO:
Well, the content manager is doing a lot more error checking, from what I understand. So, in order to make content more error free and thus, permit the game to perform better, this is a necessary process.

As far as being "better" I personally don't see any difference in 04,06, TC & 09.
04 is just mature with (4) service packs and seems to work better for me. I, like many others purchased this sim to use...not spend my time repairing faulty content or upgrading my PC in order to keep up with the sim graphics, etc...:)

I, and I supose most do not had that problem. Obviously some do.
When I first installed TS2009 and even after SP1, the only rolling stock that worked were built in. Anything downloaded failed even though they were OK in TRS2006. They all had a texture problem.
When I installed SP2 I re-installed TS2009 first and then did the manual SP2 patch from the first version. Now all but maybe 6 of the North American rolling stock I have works fine.

This is wrong, you're reading something wrong somewhere.
I know this for a fact because when I had the time upon getting TS2009 I spent a few days checking the default install and that included comparing a list of all the Builtins against the TRS2006 with SP1 Builtins and Classics 1&2. I listed what was missing in another topic.

A total of 7 TRS2006 items missing, as of the 40040 Build that's down to 1 that is Water1,<kuid:-1:8008> that should have been obsoleted by Choppy Water.
There's no way there's 80.

I bet the missing dependencies are related to CM2 having problems identifying updated versions of some content. In other words: the error is a false call because there is a higher version already installed.

It certainly pays to check the obsolete list in cmp2. This will tell you immediately if their are updated items available. Much of the time you'll find 2 or more versions of the same kuid available. Look mainly for kuid2:xxxxx. Delete the old kuid and your'e ready to gp.
