back again

Nice to see you back around here grey, I believe that you still posted frequently when I was first starting out on the forum. Glad to have you around here, and looking forward to seeing pictures of your new projects. :)

ex railwayman, its new route, called mountain pass and will have some steep and long grades in it, what I am looking for is someone to make some fill track like the one I'm using but a darker or dirtier ballast

Welcome back. I see you figured out how to add pictures to your posts :D

I agree you need some darker ballast for your track. The almost white ballast on the tan ground really really sticks out, and not in a nice way. I think it sort of detracts from the beauty of the scene by calling too much attention to itself. :o

Gidday Greywolf, hows it going. You've made a promising start to a new route, hope you can complete it.

Thanks greywolf, your route sounds exciting. I suppose you've looked on the DLS for something suitable, the 5m fill track done by norfolksouthern37 is that not dark/dirty enough for your layout ??
Unsure if there is any fill track on 3rd Party websites, it's not something I generally look for.....:hehe:

Could I interest you in trying 70337:38035? If you like it perhaps you would like to try a new and improved version that I was working on? :D

Welcome back

Hello Grey,
Nice to see you back again and welcome to this nuthouse!
I found the same as you when I started a new account with imageshack, I found it difficult to work out how to get an image up here quickly, but did in the end. I also use Photobucket which still keeps the option so all you need to do is highlight, Copy and then paste here and Bingo!
You can also put about 5 images into each 'Reply'n no need to do one at a time.

Good on'yer and keep it up.

Just a quick preview of a work-in-progress:

wooden ties for that rustic look and a narrower more dirt like dike. :)

I never even knew about these tracks until they where pointed out to me. I like this track, it looks great. Will there be other tracks with different textures and maybe tracks ??????

Not saying no but ...

As I've mentioned many times in the past, I make things when I need something. If others also like them, it's a bonus. Now most of my track requirements involve modern systems for highspeed rail. Not much call for the more "rustic" look. But then you never know what can strike my fancy. I.e., the aforementioned track on the narrow dirt dike. :o
