Bachman Plasser EM80C Track Cleaner

You do realize that this is a forum on Trainz simulation don't you?
You may need to register a version of Trainz before you're going to get much feedback. Try it, you'll love it.

It's a track geometry car which checks for various kinds track faults both on old, established track and on newly laid track.

Called a track cleaning car in this instance because it is intended to be used by model railroaders to do just that to model railway track - dunno how effective it actually is in doing this.

Confused...

I am not sure why people are having a negative i guess "tone" about this post... Its a branch of the forums where discussion about real trains and models are allowed..

I have not owned one of these.. But I've looked at buying a boxcar with one. Is this a self powered locomotive(off the DC off course):p

Because this user has not even bought trainz yet.

I actually said something about how I thought there was nothing wrong with the thread, and misunderstood Mike's comment.

So I removed it.

Yes, there is a section of this forum where members talk prototype and models, but all I was trying to say is that he might get more response if he had a registered version of Trainz.

Regarding model railroad track cleaning, I used to have a rather large model railroad and made my own track cleaning car. All I did was cut a piece of masonite a little wider than the track gauge and glued two roofing nails to it. I then took an old, cheap boxcar and drilled two holes in the bottom of it to match the nails. The masonite rode along on top of the rails with the two nails protruding up through the holes in the boxcar to keep it on the rails. Didn't look like much, but it worked pretty well on keeping 300 ft of track clean. I think I still have it in one of my modeling boxes somewhere.
