autosave not working

g'day all,
i've just noticed today autosave is not keeping up with what i'm building
i have it set at every 15 mins and it seems to be working when in surveyor game pauses
it's thrown a big spanner in the works
the session is up to date,the route is not,it's about 2 months behind
i build a bit every day and this a huge part of the route missing
it's no good with my back up copies as it has only saved up to that point
been trying fix this myself and i can't
sometimes i think of just chucking it

You have to merge the session with the route if you want to add the items you add in a session to it.

Disable autosave. Once a day go into content manager, select your route, save to CDP in a backup folder. Each day add the date to the filename, like;

Chicago Metro 3 1109.cdp
Chicago Metro 3 1110.cdp
Chicago Metro 3 1111.cdp
Chicago Metro 3 1112.cdp
Chicago Metro 3 1113.cdp
Chicago Metro 3 1114.cdp

If you run low on disk space go back and delete all the oldest except the ones that end with zero, that ensures you'll have different backups 10 days apart in case you discover a "stealth" bug hidden in all the backups since Chicago Metro 3 0920.cdp or something.

i've had a slight problem misunderstanding how to use layers
i've got it work but not sure how

i always back up my routes this way

I think we have all been there with layers. Useful when you eventually fathom out how to use them and what works with them or doesn't!
