Hello TRAINZ user fans,
Reference to the AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL RAIL ROUTE, BAYSIDE RAIL ROUTES, SANDSWORTH DOCKS ROUTE
Very glad to see that members are downloading my contributed freeware routes and sessions on the Trainz DLS download station.
The routes and sessions listed under my [ davies_mike57 ] name were developed from the Trainz UTC days added to Trainz 2004, 2006, then TC Classics 3 and Trainz 12.
I did leave some older KUID assets in the routes, and if they cannot be found or user does not have the above then make a copy of the route with the route editor and use the [delete missing assets function].
Noticed that some officially modified KUID's are not on the DLS, however when you update the Trainz 12 Simulator to service pack 1 (build 61388) you get some of the missing assets to the routes. The older KUID's become KUID2 assets.
Recommend using the PEV tools available on line that can be used to clean up older 1.3 assets, for your own personal use.
My contributions to the freeware Trainz DLS site can be viewed under the name davies_mike57.
Thanks to all the people that contributed to the shared assets in the layouts.
Happy trainspotting
Michael Davies
PS: Have a look at the web site [ trainzclassics.co.uk ] for more ideas and reference to rolling stock.

Hi Mike,
Congratulations on your three layouts Australian National, Bayside and Sandsworth - I've really enjoyed running them today and I didn't know they existed until I saw this thread.

All the assets downloaded without any problems, but I did notice that on 'Sandsworth' one of the Drivers, 'Atari' appeared to have missing dependencies. I wasn't sure how to sort that out, so when I cloned the Session, I removed Atari and replaced him with Thomas; saved it and it is now a clean route with no missing dependencies.

I like the V/Line S1 & V/Locity consists and all layouts work beautifully. Great work.
Cheers,
Roy3b3

Hi Roy3b3
Very pleased to hear from you regarding my uploads to the DLS down load station.
It is good to have feed back like this because other people may not have all the modifications to kuid's.
One of the biggest problem found is looking for missing kuid's because when I bought Trainz years ago I started with UTC.
You may be able to download the Atari character from the DLS, because some of those drivers have updated their profile pictures.
Cheers
Michael Davies

Hi matruck (Ernie),
Sorry for the delay in a reply my incoming emails not set to Trainz Forum.
The route that you was looking for (if not already found) is called:
Australian National Rail Route - kuid2:102457:100354:1
Search for davies_mike57 (routes and sessions).
Most of the stuff is repeated with modifications to routes under different names.
Only an amateur when it comes to programming and it is good to share each others ideas in shareware railway modelling.
Trainz is the best computer program ever built and developed in my opinion.
Cheers

Hi Michael.

I have just downloaded your route "Australian National Route" on Ts12.
No problems downloading assets.
Very well done, it was a pleasure to drive one of the sessions , well actually I sat back and let the AI run it , yes I'm lazy .

A minor suggestion for you that will make it easier when making a session for passenger trains.

At stations you need only give one command "Load" it does unload at the same time, and cuts down the number of commands used.

Just think ? they don't open and close doors too let passengers off, then re-open them again to allow passengers ON.

Also Using "Terminate train" it does not need "Unload" It does that anyway!!

Cheers.

NormP.

To Normp
Thanks for the info about the load and unload and terminate commands.
On newer versions of this layout have taken out the unload using only one at a station.
Used the "terminate" command at some of the stations to clear out the passengers and empty the overloaded trains cutting down the commands.
At the moment upgrading some of my layouts and sessions because there are some sticky problems along the line.
One big problem is that some third party locomotives will not "runaround train" a consist when facing a shunt signal in sidings.
That might be a problem with the locomotive script.
Anyway Normp thanks for the feedback most appreciated.
Cheers
Mike

With reference to the Australian National Rail Route and AI sessions:
Updates will soon be available for the route and AI sessions, that are currently waiting Auran Trainz approval.
Fixed up some problems with the session order commands and trains now go through portals to empty passengers.
Cheers
Mike D.
